- In any hand holding a Jack, unless of course the hand is already a winner! – four to an open-ended Straight, four to a Flush or 3 to some Straight Flush or Royal Flush – reject all cards only keeping the Jack
- In any hand holding only one card Jack or above, retain the single superior card and refuse all other cards and redraw.
- In any hand holding one pair lower than Jacks, keep the pair and refuse all other cards – unless the hand is four into a Straight or four to some Flush
- In any hand with a two-pair, preserve both pair and reject the odd-card.
- In any hand having three-of-a-kind maintain the 3-of-a-kind and reject the other 2 cards.
- In any hand with four with a Straight, keep all 4 Straight cards and re-draw – unless of course the Straight draw is not open-ended and the hand is having a Jack)
- In any hand having 4 to some Flush, retain the 4 Flush – unless of course the hand holds three to the Royal in which case you would draw to the Royal Flush
- In any hand having four-of-a-kind, hold anything since a one-card draw won’t improve the cards.
- In any hand having three with a Royal Flush, refuse anything else and go for that Royal – unless the hand is already a Sraight Flush!
